Project Overview
The Marymia East Project is a strategically located exploration asset covering approximately 230km² of the highly prospective ground including the Baumgarten Greenstone Belt. Situated just 10 kilometers southeast of Norwest’s flagship Bulgera Gold Project, Marymia East represents a significant growth opportunity with confirmed potential for both high-grade gold and base metal mineralisation.
The project is transected by the Jenkins Fault, a major regional structure associated with the world-class DeGrussa Copper-Gold Mine located ~55km to the southwest. Recent exploration campaigns, including advanced airborne geophysics and targeted drilling, have highlighted the “Shiraz” and other prospects as priority gold targets.
Geology & Mineralisation
Marymia East lies within a prolific mineralised corridor of the Plutonic Well Greenstone Belt. The geology is dominated by the Baumgarten Greenstone Block, which is masked in areas by transported cover, historically obscuring the full potential of the tenure.
- Gold Potential: The project hosts multiple historical gold prospects. Mineralisation is often associated with structural traps and saprolite zones that have seen limited deep testing.
- Base Metal Potential: The regionally significant Jenkins Fault runs through the northern tenements. This structure is a known conduit for Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) and sediment-hosted base metal deposits (Copper, Lead, Zinc), similar to the nearby DeGrussa and Monty deposits.
Exploration
Norwest Minerals are planning systematic exploration programs at Marymia East to unlock value from both historical datasets and modern geophysics.
The Marymia East Project is entering a pivotal phase. The integration of recent drilling results with the regional SkyTEM data will drive the next stage of resource definition and target generation.
Regional Synergies between Marymia East and the Bulgera gold project will allow any newly defined resources to significantly enhance the economics of Norwest’s broader development strategy in the region.
