Marriott Nickel Project
Project Overview
The Marriott Nickel Project is a specific, high-grade nickel sulphide asset located in the heart of Western Australia’s world-class Leinster-Laverton nickel province. Fully owned by Norwest Minerals and situated on a granted Mining Lease, the project offers a defined JORC resource with excellent potential for near-term development via toll-treatment or partnership.
Unlike early-stage exploration plays, Marriott is a mature asset with a robust geological model, making it a prime candidate for monetization or strategic alliance as the Company focuses on its core gold and copper portfolios.
Key Investment Highlights
- Strategic Location: Situated just 70km from the nickel mining and processing hub of Leinster, providing potential access to existing processing infrastructure (road, power, and milling options).
- Resource Defined: The project holds a JORC 2012 Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) of 584,000 tonnes @ 1.18% Nickel for 6,900 tonnes of contained nickel.
- High Confidence: Approximately 80% of the resource is classified in the Indicated category (463kt @ 1.2% Ni), demonstrating high geological confidence.
- Development Ready: The deposit sits on a granted Mining Lease (M37/96), significantly reducing regulatory lead times for future mining operations.

Geology & Mineralization
The Marriott nickel deposit is hosted within a central equigranular meta-peridotite unit, part of a larger mafic-ultramafic sequence. The mineralization is characterized by three north-dipping, sub-parallel shoots of nickel sulphides.
- Geometry: The main lens is the most extensive, with mineralization defined by extensive drilling (79 vertical diamond holes).
- Metallurgy: Historical metallurgical test work and economic modelling have indicated the project is amenable to standard flotation processing, with preliminary studies suggesting a viable “dig and truck” operation could recover up to ~5,900 tonnes of nickel via toll treatment.

Project Status & Strategy (Late 2025 Update)
As outlined in recent Quarterly Activities Reports (including Sept 2025), Norwest Minerals maintains 100% ownership of the Marriott Project. The asset is currently under strategic review.
While Norwest’s primary operational focus is currently directed toward the drill-out of the Bulgera and Marymia East Gold Projects, Marriott remains a valuable holding. The Company continues to engage in discussions regarding divestment, joint venture, or toll-treatment partnerships to unlock the value of this defined nickel asset for shareholders without diverting capital from its flagship exploration programs.
