Norwest is aggressively exploring its West Australian assets which include Rare Earth Elements, Copper, Gold, and Base Metals
Arunta West Project (REE, lithium and IOCG) – 600 kms west of Alice Springs in WA
In January 2023, Norwest announced the discovery of clay hosted rare earth elements (REE) at its Arunta West project. The presence of REEs in the area is supported by multi-element assays from wide spaced copper exploration drilling undertaken by First Quantum Minerals (FQM) in 2015. All Norwest and FQM holes intersected the near-surface REEs in the Bitter Springs sediments. Norwest have commenced drilling the areas showing the better high-grade REE mineralisation potential.
Bali Copper Project – 200kms of Newman
Norwest holds 100% of the highly prospective Bali Copper Project located 75 kilometres west of Paraburdoo in Western Australia. The Bali Project includes an 8km long shear being a major fault zone proven to host copper, lead, zinc and silver mineralisation. Recent mapping has identified 9 copper quartz veins south of the shear in the Deep South project area. These veins trend up to 1.2kms along surface with rock chip samples reporting average assay grades of 20% from all veins. RC drilling below the 4 largest veins will commence in Q3 of 2023.
Bulgera Gold Project (100%) – 200kms north of Meekatharra
The Bulgera Gold Project is situated within the 7moz gold Plutonic Well greenstone belt which includes the Plutonic Gold Mine and the 1 million oz Marymia gold resource both recently acquired by Catalyst Metals. The consolidation of the area provides a short-term opportunity to treat the Company’s 200,000 ounce Bulgera gold resource through the under-utilised Plutonic plant.
Marymia East Gold & Base metals Project (84%) – 200kms north of Meekatharra
The Company’s Marymia East project is located just 10kms southeast of the Bulgera Gold project. The tenements cover 232km² of highly prospective greenstone and is bisected by the Jenkins fault; a regional structure associated with several base metal projects including the DeGrussa copper-gold mine.
Marriott Nickel Project – 70kms outside of Leinster
The Marriott Nickel Project (100%) is located on a granted mining lease in the centre of Western Australia’s Leinster-Laverton nickel region. The project includes a JORC resource of 584,000t @ 1.18% Ni for 6,900 tonnes of contained nickel. Norwest continue to speak to potential partners or buyers.
